IT Solutions

PRESS RELEASE (18/05/11)

Bluegrass Computer Services, one of the South West’s leading IT Support providers, has achieved the prestigious Green Accord accreditation.  Bluegrass is the first UK business in its sector to be awarded the Green Accord Superior Status.

The company who provide computer support to the likes of Devon Air Ambulance Trust and Bovey Castle Hotel have spent the past 6 months improving their processes to reduce its environmental impact.

The Green Accord is an Environmental Accreditation, and a National Scheme, that enables businesses to implement sustainable working practices, real practical actions, with guidance and support to reduce business costs.  Green Accord has been endorsed by the Audit Commission.

David Thomas, Managing Director, said: “One of Bluegrass’ ambitions is to play a leading role in setting the industry standard within the region for the effective management of our environment.  By implementing new practices we can not only benefit the environment but also provide our clients with solutions that are environmentally friendly and help to reduce their business costs.”

“Achieving the accreditation reflects a lot of hard work and helps keep us ahead of our competitors.  Our team is now more environmentally aware which is delivering real financial benefits with our energy use.”

An additional benefit of the Green Accord accreditation is that value it can add to the clients of Bluegrass.

Steve Triner, Head of Computer Services, said “As well as Bluegrass gaining internal benefits we can also now advise our clients on technology solutions that not only help the environment but also help them save money by the efficient use IT hardware such as PCs and servers.”

Bluegrass Computer Services, a Microsoft Gold Certified partner, joins Sir Robert McAlpine and Exeter University who have all been accredited by the Green Accord.
